Hi!

   My name is Cora! I am 9 years old and I believe that everyone should be cared for and have good friends no matter what color their skin is. Although others disagree and although it may be hard we have to do the right thing and take a stand. Thank you all for reading this post and looking at my blog. I will write new entries every Tuesday and comment on yours daily.

    Thank you, Cora! You are so right. It took me a long time to learn that skin color shouldn’t determine my friendships, but luckily I found that out before meeting my husband, who is from West Africa. If I let racism dictate my life, I would have missed out on so much joy. I hope no one has to miss the joy of friendship.

    I have a question for you. Did you find your answer to the question about Faith Camp and Black Lives Matter? What do you think that Faith Lutheran Church may do to move forward on this issue?

      My question was for Luther Hill and Pastor Jen and I talked. Our church can help by 1. Welcoming everyone 2. Put up signs that support Black Lives Matter. And 3. Teach others to not be racist.

    Dear Cora,
    I am so impressed with you!! This is a big and complex topic but you wrote about it beautifully. Friendship and treating eachother right is so important. I think you are right to take action and show solidarity. You are an amazing writer and I will follow your blog weekly, even when we get to Europe!
    I will let you know how the people Europe participate in Black Lives Matter and we can compare if they have the same or different ideas.

  It is Election Day and I hope that you will vote! Tomorrow we might be figuring out who is the new president.  It's important to vote because the government will know what's important to you.  I decide who to vote for depending on how how kind they are and how they will represent our community. The You Matter Project (Bronze Award)

My Bronze Award project for Girl Scouts is helping LGBTQ+ kids in foster care. It is called the You Matter Project. This is because it is helping LGBTQ+ kids to know that they matter. A surprisingly large number of LGBTQ+ are homeless or in foster care because they are not wanted with their blood families. This is very sad because no one should be excluded from their family just because they are different. The You Matter project plans to work with two organizations, Carrying Hope and Montrose Grace Place. Both organizations work on helping foster kids in different ways. Montrose Grace Place helps foster kids in their late teens while Carrying Hope helps kids from infant to early teens. I am working with two girls in my girl scout troop. As we progress into our project we hope to help kids in foster care in the LGBTQ+ area. As the project continues I will post more about it. Remember, all people have a place in this world.

My Vacation

                                                      My Vacation   Day 1: Booooo driving day... But we got to swim in a lake! We drove all the way to Big Springs RV Park.                     Day 2: We drove some more until we got to Santa Fe Skies. That same night we got to see my Uncle Matt and Aunt Muriel (who is a viewer on this blog! Hi Aunt Muriel!). We also got to go to Roswell, New Mexico where people believe aliens are real! Can you believe it! But I also got to go into my first store since MARCH! Cool right! Next is day 3...              Day 3: Hiking day!
